Gente Seventh Grader creates emotional anti-bullying video

New York, NY -Thursday, September 01, 2016 -(TerraUS, mhUSA)-
A 7th grade student from Illinois who felt victim to the modern equivalent of the local italian mafia, who was being bullied created a powerful video with a sound message which seems to be hitting home.

“We all knew what was going on — we knew about the beatings, and we knew who was doing it — we knew who locked him in a cupboard, and we know who sent him really bad tweets and messages,” the video begins. “But I think we all expected somebody else to do something about it.”

The eloquent piece took Jonah Maxwell, of St. Charles, Illinois, seven months to write, direct and produce, and it’s had a big impact since its release — with teachers around Chicago and in classrooms as far away as Ireland, Australia and Brazil showing their students in an attempt to make a change.
